LIVING VERY WELL IN SPAIN - IT IS STILL POSSIBLE

When I wanted a hoiday home and later a healthy valley to retire to to recover from two cancer operations naturally I chose the then golden self sufficient an d actively exporting La Drova and Barx valley some 12 km inland from Gandia the histoical home of the Borgia Popes who took Safor cuisine and artistry to the Vattcan via the monestary of Simat for whom my valley produced vegetables fruit meat and alcoholic drinks. Medieval monks lived a great life with middle east plundering holidays and village maidens.

The latter disappeared long ago, except that I lost my wife to a 21st century villager with monkish desires, I therefore developed a garden and for some years an allotment and olive grove and produced all the families needs ecologically, except for cheese wine and jamon serrano. But in fact I recently discovered that an elderly villager still produces young cheeses from the milk of the last goats in the village. Tomorrow morning I will pick up a cheese to include in tapas tomorrow evening for an international group of friends.
