Moixent (or Mogente in castillian spanish) is situated some 80km from Valencia, 23km from Xàtiva and it is the penultimate town in the province of Valencia heading towards Albacete.

Numerous cultures have populated Moixent throughout its history. Archaeological remains having been found that testify to this and point to settlements from the Paleolithic era and the Bronze Age. However the most relevant archaeological remains are those that make up the Iberian settlement of La Bastida de Les Alcusses (4th century), which is where the worldfamous "Guerrero de Moixent" (Warrior of Moixent) - a statuette of great artistic value - was found

Among the its principal monuments are the Roman bridge on Calle la Cadena, the Castillo Musulmán from the Almohad period, La Iglesia de San Pedro Apóstol church (unique for its strange bell tower) and the Hermitage of Santas Reliquias.

El Bosquet (The Little Wood) is the most emblematic spot of the municipal district. Here one can enjoy the artificial lake - equipped for water sports - which collects the water from the gullies of the area thanks to two retaining walls that were constructed at the end of the 18th century. Also close to the town one finds El Regolf, which has a spring with fresh water and an ideal environment for walking. Moreover, in the municipal area one can also visit the gully of La Hoz, one of the narrowest and most beautiful in the area. Also, in the cave known as the Cueva de Patas, which is easy to reach, one can see some impressive stalactites.
