RAIN HAS BROKEN THE LONG DRY SPELL

Overnight rain has broken a long dry spell but luckliy not heavy enoiugh to spoil the present first display of daffodils. But it has upsey plans to prune some olive trees this morning and tidy the garden before visitors arrive later in the week. So itthe peach tree flowers jare ust breaking through as are the almonds, and numerous succulents are in flower - all in the selection recommended in part 4.12 of our book Your Garden in Spain which describes and illustrates some 400 plants useful for Spanish gardens together with their botanical english and common spanish names.

Maybe there will be less wild boar coming down from the hills each night searching for water and digging over the agricultural plots to te west of the village, but it may mean that the three red squirrels in te area for the past week won't be back. This is only the third known siting in the La Drova urbanisation in 25 years as far as I know.

 So on with tge inside chores for a while. But perhaps the afternoon may be sunny as so often happens when the morning low clouds evaporate.
