How to use the site

Information is generally based around a 'place', which can be a region, province, comarca (county), city, town or village.

  • To see a specific place - type its name into the "Type a placename" box (selecting the name when you see it appear) - the page for that place will be displayed with tabs for information.
  • To browse down through a region - click the "Locations" button and start selecting, or click on the map (hover to see the region's name).

For activities and accomodation - click on the relevant menu button and you will see a list of types of activity/accomodation together with a list places where they occur. Click on the place name for more details.

If you can't find what you are looking for, please let us know (use the menu item Contact Us). We'd also like to hear any comments you'd care to make.

Places in this post:

There has been great weather, including this weekend ,for walking in the generally sunny La Drova / Barx valley and the suirrounding mountains within which it is possible to walk for ten hours without meetring another person, fence or tarmacked road. If you have never visted this way for a day, weekend or a winter weeks holiday you should give it a try. Although many of the original sixteen bar restaurants have closed as a result of the crisis you will still be able to eat well. For over night stays there a number of bed and breakfast establishments and a camp site in tge village . Of course one can also stay on the nearby coast at Gandia Playa.

Before we walked across Spain for 52 days we trained in our own back yard as I have lived here for many years as all types of terain are available.

Our story about our journey is written up as 'Our 52 day retirement journey along the Spanish Pyrenees' which is available from Amazon Books.
