How to use the site

Information is generally based around a 'place', which can be a region, province, comarca (county), city, town or village.

  • To see a specific place - type its name into the "Type a placename" box (selecting the name when you see it appear) - the page for that place will be displayed with tabs for information.
  • To browse down through a region - click the "Locations" button and start selecting, or click on the map (hover to see the region's name).

For activities and accomodation - click on the relevant menu button and you will see a list of types of activity/accomodation together with a list places where they occur. Click on the place name for more details.

If you can't find what you are looking for, please let us know (use the menu item Contact Us). We'd also like to hear any comments you'd care to make.

Bright sunny stroll to village

Places in this post:

Celebrated a mixture of the New Year and the Three Kings with an international group of friends last night. Having catered for 13 persons on a Friday and then had to clean up  I was not upto a long walk this morning. But as sunny, 20 degrees centigrade in the shade, I took a pleasant walk to the village of Barx and on to a friend beyond and back, some 5 km in total.  The  mountains on both sides of the valley shone in the sunlight and only the call of an unseen bird of prey broke the silence. In the spring programme of the Costa Blanca Walkers now viewable on their website you will see that in April/May I am leading four easy/moderate walks to allow walkers to enjopy the localscenery and history. The walks are titled Drova Valley East, West, North and South.

Later had a late lunch on the still warm terrace and watched the first good sunset of the year.
