How to use the site

Information is generally based around a 'place', which can be a region, province, comarca (county), city, town or village.

  • To see a specific place - type its name into the "Type a placename" box (selecting the name when you see it appear) - the page for that place will be displayed with tabs for information.
  • To browse down through a region - click the "Locations" button and start selecting, or click on the map (hover to see the region's name).

For activities and accomodation - click on the relevant menu button and you will see a list of types of activity/accomodation together with a list places where they occur. Click on the place name for more details.

If you can't find what you are looking for, please let us know (use the menu item Contact Us). We'd also like to hear any comments you'd care to make.

The contract

We bit the bullet - we've told Jose to go ahead with the project and this means signing a contract with him. The contract is very simple and states:

  1. the basic costs at €6000 plus IVA (tax) - this is for three components
    1. Proyecto Basico €2800
    2. Proyecto de Ejecución €2800, and
    3. Estudio de Seguridad y Salud €400.
  2. The time scales for the two Proyectos (1.5 months each).
  3. What happens if there are enforced changes outside the Architects control.
  4. That the Architect gets paid!

Proyecto Basico - is a simple outline plan showing the location of the house on the plot and the layout of rooms

Proyecto Ejecución - these are the detailed plans of the house with all construction details

Estudio de Seguridad y Salud - Health and Safety Study .. we wonder what on Earth this will involve having seen the cavailer approach to safety prevalent in Spain

Each of the projects has to be approved by the College of Architects and then the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall)
